Why Lori is Running in the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend
Meet Lori!
As we gear up for the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, we want to introduce you to Lori, one of our incredible employees!
“Taking part in this race is a way for me to advocate and build awareness for the people we serve, to ensure they have every opportunity to live their best lives,” said Lori.
Lori is part of the Central Soul Sisters and Misters, a team lacing up to raise funds for DeafBlind Ontario Foundation.
Why She’s Running
For Lori, participating in the Tamarack Ottawa Race is a way to step outside her daily role to show what really matters to her and her team.
“I’m participating in the Ottawa race to raise funds for the critical needs of the people we serve who are deafblind, as well as those living with a developmental disability who are Deaf, hard of hearing or use non-traditional forms of communication.”

“DeafBlind Ontario Services is close to my heart,” Lori shared. “We work hard to provide the best possible quality of life for the people we are supporting.”
Your participation in the Tamarack Ottawa Race will help fund the priority needs of the people we serve: accessible housing, specialized equipment, wheelchair accessible vans, assistive devices, and recreational and social programs. “I knew my family and friends would support me in this event because they know how passionate I am about my work, and how much it means to the people we serve.”
